Commitment
Buying, selling and moving are hard enough without a website getting in the way. Poonam Babbar aims for this site to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, the current international standard, and to stay usable by keyboard, screen reader, voice control and magnification. Reaching that aim is ongoing work. The sections below say what is in place today and where the site still falls short.
This statement is not a certificate of conformance. The site has not been independently audited, and it may not meet every WCAG 2.2 AA requirement.
What is in place
- Page structure: one main heading per page, headings in a logical order, labelled landmarks, and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Keyboard use: links, buttons, the menu and form fields can be reached and used without a mouse. A visible focus outline is shown on links, buttons and form fields.
- Colour and contrast: text and controls are designed to meet AA contrast. Links in text and the current page in the main menu are underlined as well as coloured.
- Readable text: body text is set at a comfortable size, and pages adapt to small screens and are designed to reflow when text is enlarged.
- Forms: every field has a visible label with a visible underline, and the consent box is clearly labelled. If a form cannot be sent, the page returns to the form with a message in words above it. With JavaScript on, keyboard focus also moves to that message.
- Images: meaningful images are given text alternatives, and purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Motion: decorative backgrounds drift once for a few seconds and then stop. The home page has a “Pause motion” button for its slower loop, and animation is switched off when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Video: videos play only when you choose, from a labelled button.
- Links: link text describes where the link goes, and links that open a new tab say so in text read out by screen readers.
- Core content, links and forms work without JavaScript. Without it, the main menu is shown as a plain list of links.
Known limitations
Some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible, or are outside Poonam Babbar’s control:
- Third-party content. The YouTube player, social media sites, WhatsApp, REALTOR.ca and the brokerage website are run by other companies, and their accessibility is their responsibility.
- Videos and new content. Videos, articles and images added in future may lack captions, transcripts or complete text alternatives until they are reviewed. If you find one, please report it.
- Language. The site is written in English. Poonam Babbar also works with clients in Hindi and Punjabi, by phone, text or WhatsApp.
- Testing. The site has been checked with automated tools and by keyboard during development. That is not a substitute for testing with a range of screen readers and other assistive technology, which has not been completed, and no independent third-party audit has been carried out.
